DIRECTOR'S MEMO

FIRST NOMINATION FOR 'THE RADIO'
I’m incredibly proud to share that my debut short film, The Radio, has been nominated for ‘Best WA-Made Horror Short’ at the Perth Horror Film Festival.
At just 15 years old, stepping into the film industry for the first time has been nothing short of surreal. The journey has been filled with challenges, growth, and countless learning moments. Navigating this space as a young filmmaker can be daunting, where age often feels like both a strength and a limitation. But this nomination serves as a powerful reminder that creativity knows no age, and that young voices in cinema are not only possible - they’re being recognized.
The Radio was born from a desire to tell a story that feels unsettling yet human, familiar yet strange. I never imagined that my first attempt behind the camera would lead to this kind of acknowledgment, and I’m deeply grateful to the Perth Horror Film Festival for seeing value in my vision.
This is my very first recognition as a director, and it marks the beginning of a journey I’m only just beginning. There is so much more I want to learn, explore, and express through film, and I’m beyond excited for what lies ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. And thank you again to the Perth Horror Film Festival for this incredible honour.
